Labor of Love:  Showing Up with Joy

I’ve always worked on holidays.
When I was a professional dancer, the show still went on.
When I was a waitress, there were tables to serve.
And now, as a yogi, I teach and give.

Labor Day is a time to honor the contributions of workers, and I’ve always felt proud to be part of that. There’s something deeply meaningful about showing up, sharing your talents, and knowing your work—no matter the role—helps keep the world turning.

From the arts to hospitality to teaching, I’ve been lucky to be part of communities where people give their time, energy, and heart to serve others. That’s the beauty of the workforce—we each bring something unique, and together, it creates the fabric of our society.

Yes, times have changed, and conversations about work-life balance are everywhere, but I still believe there’s joy to be found in doing what you do with pride and purpose. Whether you’re behind a counter, on a stage, in an office, or leading a class, your work matters.

This Labor Day, I’m celebrating the spirit of contribution—the millions of people in the United States (and beyond) who keep life moving forward. Thank you for the heart, effort, and dedication you put into your work.

Happy Labor Day.
