Hi. Here is the 6th step in the top ten ways to achieve the life you love. If you missed the last post click here to catch up.
I have been a mover form an early age. I was sweating with Jane Fonda videos and expressing myself through dance from my early years. Moving my body and your body is a topic that is near and dear to my heart.
Most people are on the run constantly these days and when they have down time the sofa and TV are calling their name. I’m here to challenge you to treat your body with love and kindness.
Yes, your body needs rest as we push it past it’s limits everyday and I encourage everyone to get seven to eight hours of sleep a night.
Here’s the kicker. Your body was meant to move and many people are not moving enough.
Your body was meant to perform hard labor but we are no longer farming and working out in the fields. Taking a 20 minute walk after dinner is a wonderful way to help digestion and stay up and active. After being in an office all day, walking in the evening is a great way to get some fresh air and get your nature time in. Please be careful and use caution when walking alone at night. Walking with family and friends is the way to go.
Have you been desiring to "dance with the stars"? Take a ballroom dance class.
Yoga anyone? Get your peace at the same time sweating on your mat. Breathe in and stretch, breathe out and strengthen.
Good old fashion aerobics videos. Cross Fit. Ballet Barre. Zumba. DO what feels good and makes you smile and feel really good.
Other ways to take care of your body is to drink lots of water to hydrate. I’m not talking gatorade or sports drinks. Good old plain water with some lemon for taste.
Omit sugar, caffeine and alcohol for a week to see how you feel. Eat more fruits and veggies and pick one day a week to detox by drinking only fresh fruit and vegetable juices and green smoothies.
